He has a familiar voice, his lyrics are clever and poetic, and his music surprises with extravagant flourishes. The Roman singer-songwriter, Mimmo Locasciulli, has been well known on the stage since 1975. And for just as long, he has worked as a surgeon in a hospital in Rome. Locasciulli put together his current album "Idra" with some famous colleagues, such as the New Yorkers Greg Cohen, Joey Baron and Marc Ribot, and the Italian Gabriele Mirabassi. His mellow and jazzy attire matches the songs and confirms how contemporary and tasteful the Roman singer-songwriter has remained.
