Melissa Laveaux comes from a Haitian-Canadian family and lives in France. Her minimalist arrangements show off the energy and poetic effect of her texts to full advantage. Her voice alone expresses itself in many different ways: by turns majestic, fragile, deep, and sensuous. Laveaux‘s music captivates you from the first chord, from the very first note, due to her pronounced, husky, sighing vocals and her folksy, percussive guitar playing, steeped in soul and blues.
