A drummer as the band leader, who writes all the pieces himself, is a rare breed in the world of jazz. Markus Lauterburg masters this role with confidence. He is a tone painter with groove who has studied with Pierre Favre. With his "Mumur" formation, he creates music of beauty and depth of focus in the interplay of written and improvised passages. An acoustic journey between broad horizons, with fissures and sharp peaks along the way, undertaken in a state of full alertness.
