Two musicians who take their time to develop melodies and create atmospheres. Laut & Luise's chamber jazz is based on clear structures, but leaves space for improvisation. It is music without a trace of cheap sensationalism. Rahel Thierstein and Araxi Karnusian forgo spectacular twists; instead they transport the audience with their sophisticated dialogues and their tonal precision to deeper strata of musical enjoyment. "New snow" is the fitting name for their current CD: Like a landscape after a snowfall, the music is also embedded in a tremendous calm.
