A British former punk rocker and an African griot make music together with Rock & Roots, which sometimes sounds like Bo Diddley in Africa. Justin Adams, from London, founded the "Invaders of the Heart" with Jah Wobble and has been a member of Robert Plant's band since 2002. He produced the Tuareg band Tinariwen and worked with Brian Eno. Juldeh Camara from Gambia is keeping the tradition of traveling singers alive with his vocals. In accompaniment, he also expertly plays the riti, a one-stringed, electric violin. The result is some pretty rough music with an unmistakable African soul.
