The Estonian composer, Arvo Pärt, is well known for the spiritual dimension of his music. The pure tonal patterns produce a tremendous intensity and transcend religious connotations. The Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir (EPCC) has a special relationship with Pärt's works. This ensemble, founded in 1981, has made a name for itself, above all under the artistic leadership of Paul Hillier (Hilliard Ensemble). While in Stans, the famous choir will focus on compositions by Arvo Pärt and commemorate the late Stans choir leader, Heinz Stöckli-Scheidegger.
