Travel by Public Transportation
You can reach Stans easily by train. Trains depart from Lucerne every 30 minutes, and from Engelberg once every hour. Timetable

Arrival by Car
Take the A2, exit at Stans North or South. Please follow the signs when entering the village and use the parking facilities in the center of the village. Parking will not be available at St. Fidelis College. Map

Public Transportation

After 8:00 pm, if you have a Stanser Musiktage pin or a main program ticket for that day, you can travel home by public transportation free of charge: valid, as previously, for the Zentralbahn and for Postauto buses in Nidwalden and Obwalden, and (new this year) also in the Passepartout zones 101, 201, 202, and 203 (Lucerne and urban agglomeration).

Extra trips for late returners

New this year, the Zentralbahn will be running additional trains from Stans after midnight (to Lucerne) and, as usual, buses will be running (to Sarnen/Alpnach, Beckenried, and Engelberg) at the following times:

Departure from Stans Station stopping at all stations and bus stops

Monday to Saturday night: 1:00 am

Friday and Saturday night, in addition: 2:30 am

Without a pin or main program ticket, the extra journey will cost CHF 10.00.
